Christy as Holly Golightly by Steven Meisel...

As one of the most truly iconic supermodels of our time CHRISTY TURLINGTON BURNS continues to be one of those gems in command and a woman who has made such an imprint in the business that her mark is basically irreplaceable. What is interesting is that she has a different world she is making such an imprint on these days but she is just as much luminous and passionate as her sparkling face has always conveyed in what she was representing.
Here, GS&E shares an EXCLUSIVE beauty question from this drop dead gorgeous visionary:
WHAT INSPIRES YOU THAT YOU FIND BEAUTIFUL?
I'm inspired everyday and can find beauty in just about everything, particularly the eyes of my children...
Besides her fashion icon status, Christy launched Sundari, a luxury skin-care line that was a huge success, wrote a best-selling book called "Living Yoga: Creating a Life Practice" and is a spokeswoman for (RED), a charity to raise awareness and money for the Global Fund whose proceeds help provide anti-retrovial drugs to those affected with HIV/AIDS in Africa. She also launched nuala, her yoga line in 1999, which partnered with Puma. Christy is the maternal health advocate for CARE (Cooperative for Assistance & Relief Everywhere) and her goal is to "create a mainstream maternal health movement that ensures the lives and well-being of mothers world-wide, for generations to come."
Her cause is to improve maternal health and reduce maternal mortality. In a scary statistic it shows 500,000 women die each year in childbirth and 90% are preventable. She recently directed a beautiful film called "No Woman, No Cry" which reveals gripping stories of at-risk pregnant women in four parts of the world.
Everyone should sign the petition at: www.everymothercounts.org - it only takes a minute and it means so much.
Christy proves her inside beauty puts her outside beauty to shame. She currently lives in NYC with her husband and two children. Can't help but be envious of how lucky her children are to have THAT as your role model as a mother. She is perfectly gorgeous, worldly, beyond charitable, with a fashion-icon shiny red Maraschino cherry on top.
